Barbershop for Imbibers

Hello, my name is Paul Cunningham, aka Tiff. I thought you might like to know how I became hooked on barbershop singing.

Every year prior to Christmas, The Nuneaton Griff Football Club Imbibers meet up at The Blue Pig at Wolves for a meal and to sink a few beers. Three years ago, Three Spires Harmony dropped in and gave us a few songs, which was so enjoyed by everyone, I was tasked to get them to come back the following year and noted they were doing a Learn to Sing course.

I secretly went along and was introduced at their next performance, at the Imbibers Xmas bash. The rest is history and I am now a committed barbershopper, in fact I have now joined a second chorus, Tuxedo Junction.

2019 was a great year for me as I got to sing on stage at the Bournemouth Convention. I still sing with Three Spires Harmony and have made a lot of friends over the years in both choruses. It just goes to show how being seen in public gets results. I do believe that we will reach out to new barbershoppers by being seen singing songs that people know and enjoy, just as I did.
